Mix in some art like Filthy's in realtime or some other format, and you have a great alternative/complement to the Stroker's ball!

To truly be a community conference, SLCC needs to be mirrored, including full streaming and participation, in both directions. This is costly, and likely means that there would be a significant cost involved for in-world participation. But it's worth it. If WE can't accomplish a real world / virtual world mashup, then what are we celebrating? Let's get to work!

Many people are interested in creating businesses in Second Life. Many SL businesses, just like 1st Life businesses fail, because they don't have a business plan. This forum will give an overview of how to write a business plan for SL and answer questions about planning a successful SL business.

It's much easier to learn in person. Why not tutorial panels on things like creating seamless textures, clothing, animations and sculpties?

There are over 1/4 million SL photos in the big SL flickr group alone now, and 8500 members. Why not have a panel where you gather up the best SL photographers and have them teach their techniques for shooting and post-processing, as well as tips for where to host and exhibit your finished work? Avatrait would be a logical sponsor for this.

There are dozens, maybe hundreds of businesses you can own/run in Second Life. Which business is right for you? This panel discussion will talk about the different types of SL businesses, from part-time to full-time, selling clothes, to personal services or even 1st Life life Second life technology integration or marketing. You will learn about the time, skills and money required for each different type of business, so you can decide which one is right for you!

Would be nice to find a room full of cool hardware that works with SL, including really nice headsets, graphics cards comparisons and maybe even those stereoscopic displays you can find at really nerdy institutions. :) I'm sure some manufacturer would sponsor this. *cough* logitech? *cough*

How closely does your 1st Life self resemble your 2nd Life Avatar? Step up on stage, stand next to a full size picture of your Avatar and see if people think the two of you are "Twins," "Relatives" or from a "Totally Different Gene Pool!"

Take some of SL's top creators and ask them to explain their process from inspiration to creation and maybe even their marketing approach.

More and more people are doing contract work inside of SL, creating spaces for corporations and business who never had a presence there in the past. This panel would focus on business best practices for people who freelance in SL. You could cover things like whether or not you should have a contract, what it should include and any special considerations one might need for working in SL. (For example, permissions difficulties when passing on a build or access issues if building for teen grid use.)
